Call for photos – Help Chic Scott finish his latest book

Mountain historian Chic Scott is creating the ACC’s first official history book, a 450-page full-color volume spanning 120 years. Chic needs help to finish the book: he’s seeking photographs of key people and events from ACC members who might have rare images in their personal collections.

Mt. Alberta Centennial

In July 1925 a team of Japanese climbers docked at Vancouver and proceeded by rail to Jasper. Their goal was to summit the unclimbed Mt. Alberta. Yuko Maki, Masanobu Hatano, Seiichi Hashimoto, Nagakazu Okabe, Yukio Mita and  Tanezo Hayakawa were met by outfitter Fred Brewster and three Swiss climbing guides. Brewster supplied 39 horses to haul supplies to the base of the mountain for the month-long expedition.
