Hut History

The Woodbury Cabin was built over the summers of 1983 and 1984 at the exact site on which an old mining cabin once existed. The circumstances that came together for the construction of the hut worked out conveniently – a great site location, abundant building materials, and free labor provided by a provincial co-operative inmate program. The hut was also built with the goal of creating an incentive to draw park users away from the central core of the park and into the less crowded areas by providing a base for their recreational activities.
