Call for Nominations: ACC Board of Directors Election 2025

The Alpine Club of Canada is seeking nominations for three positions on our Board of Directors for the upcoming election. Each year, three of the nine positions on the Board are elected for three-year terms.

Overview

The Alpine Club of Canada is seeking nominations for three positions on our Board of Directors for the upcoming election. Each year, three of the nine positions on the Board are elected for three-year terms. 

Following the results of the 2024 election announced at the club’s Annual General Meeting in May, we are now preparing for the 2025 election. Positions available for election in 2025:

  • President
  • Secretary
  • Vice-President for Activities

 

The incumbent President elected in 2022 will be seeking re-election. The incumbent VP Activities was appointed to the position in October 2023 to fill a vacancy and will also be seeking re-election.

This is a great opportunity to deepen your involvement with the ACC and contribute to the club’s strategic direction. We are looking for qualified individuals who are passionate about the ACC’s mission and eager to make a difference.

ACC Gazette Section Stories: Saskatchewan

Avalanche and weather conditions aligned perfectly for the first annual ACC Saskatchewan Section Ski and Board Fest from March 28 to April 1. Our team was made up of nine section members, six of us made the long drive from Saskatoon, and met up with three who came from Calgary. The trip was based out of the Lake Louise Alpine Centre hostel, and we toured different locations in the area for four days. In total, we climbed over 3,500 metres and travelled almost 50 kilometres on our skis and split boards.

A Human Powered Female+ Climbing Expedition to Baffin Island

The ACC is dedicated to helping young women pursue their adventure dreams with annual cash grants from the Jen Higgins Fund. The aim of this expedition was to complete a 250 km human powered climbing adventure to the east coast of Baffin Island, and put up a first ascent as a fully female+ team.
