Booking Policies
General Reservation Policies
ACC (Alpine Club of Canada) membership is open to everyone, and memberships may be purchased for any parties at the time of a hut reservation.
ACC Member Booking:

- Reservations must accurately reflect the party composition and membership status of everyone in the reservation.
- You will be asked to complete guest details during the reservation process. You will need guest name, membership ID and membership expiry date for every ACC member in your party.
- All reservations will be reviewed by ACC staff to confirm membership status and group composition. If the reservation details do not reflect accurate member status, it will be marked as a Follow Up status. If the correct information is not provided within the Follow Up timeline, the reservation may be cancelled.
- ACC membership must be active at the time of the hut booking.
- Reservations can be made up to 180 days in advance by ACC members.
- If you make a reservation 180 days in advance, you may call our guest services team to extend the reservation up to a total of 5 nights. For example: You make a booking at 180 days, you can call to extend the booking past the date at 181 days.
- Non-members can book up to 90 days in advance.
- Members can book non-members within 90 days; however, they cannot make a reservation for a non-member more than 90 days in advance.
- Alpine Club memberships are not required to book our hut operated in BC Provincial Parks (Kokanee Glacier Cabin, Conrad Kain Hut, Elk Lakes Cabin, Silver Spray Cabin, Woodbury Cabin). Members and non-members have the same booking privileges of 180 days in advance. Hut rates in BC Provincial Parks are the same for both members and non-members.
Backcountry Huts Booking Policies
- Full payment for all hut reservations is required at the time of booking.
- Dates and huts are non-transferable.
- Bookings are non-transferable to another party.
- Changes to any bookings are treated the same as a cancellation and follow the same terms and conditions.
- Changes in membership status between the time of reservation and the time of travel will not change the rates charged.
Ski Week Registration Policy
Booking Terms and Conditions:
- Your ski week reservation is for the entire hut, not individual beds. By proceeding, you agree to comply with all changes and terms related to the exclusive hut booking.
- A non-refundable reservation fee of 50% is due within 7 days of receiving this invoice. Failure to pay by the deadline will forfeit your reservation.
- The remaining non-refundable 50% is due 90 days before your booking start date.
- The reservation fee and final payment cover costs associated with your stay are non-refundable for any reason.
Adventures Registration & Payment Policies
Please make sure you have read and agreed to the ACC’s Cancellation Policy as once your registration is confirmed you are bound to the terms of this policy. Please also ensure you have read and agreed to the ACC Waiver of Liability in English or French. We will require a signed copy of this to be completed on the first day of the camp with the guide if not already signed as part of your membership.
For all program 5 days or longer:
- Full payment of the camp fee is due at the time of registration. 50% of the camp fee is non-refundable unless the ACC cancels the program (see below). Up to 50% of payment may be refunded as per the cancellation policy below
- Full payment is required at the time of registration and is 100% non-refundable unless the ACC cancels the program (see below).
- At time of registration, you will be charged $500. On September 16th, 50% of your remaining balance will be due. 60 days before your trip you will be charged the remaining balance of your registration. All processed payments are non-refundable. The balance due dates will be clearly listed in your confirmation email.
GMC Registration Policy
- A 50% non-refundable registration fee is due at time of registration. The remaining GMC balance will be charged automatically 60 days prior to the start date and is non-refundable once processed. The balance due date will be listed on the participant registration confirmation email. For registrations that are within 60 days of the GMC start date, full payment is required at the time of registration and the full payment is non-refundable.
Cancellations and Refund Policies
Backcountry Huts Cancellation Policies
- Cancellations made more than 15 days prior to the first night’s stay will be refunded 50% of the reservation fee. Refunds made to a credit card will be subject to a 2.4% credit card processing fee.
- Cancellations less than 15 days prior to the first night’s stay will not be refunded.
- The ACC does not refund or discount any booking(s) due to weather, hazardous conditions, wildlife, wildfire, delay, early departure, imposed closures or restrictions, road conditions, road closure, illness, trail closure or for any other reason(s) beyond our control.
- Credits and/or deferrals will not be considered for any cancellation for any reason whatsoever.

Ski Week Cancellation Policy
Cancellations:
- No refunds, credits, or deferrals for any cancellations due to weather, wildlife, delays, early departures, closures, or other reasons beyond our control.
- The ACC reserves the right to cancel any bookings at their discretion.
- Dates and bookings are non-transferable. Any changes, including reducing overnight stays, are treated as cancellations and follow cancellation terms.
Adventures Cancellation Policy
- In very rare circumstances, the ACC may cancel an entire program, in which case, a future program credit or full payment refund may be offered, wholly at the discretion of The Alpine Club of Canada.
- Note that in the event of cancellation, the ACC is not responsible for any ancillary expenses incurred by a participant.
- Should a participant need to cancel their registration and has purchased cancellation insurance, please refer to the insurance policy conditions. If a participant has not purchased cancellation insurance, please refer to the cancellation/refund policy stated above.
- Note that the ACC may accept a replacement participant for the program provided the replacement participant meets the program requirements.
- If we receive a cancellation request, more than 60 days in advance of the program start date, the registrant shall receive 50% refund of the full payment less a 2.4% transaction fee. If this request is made at 60 days or less before the program start date, no refund will be provided.
- There are no refunds, full payment is due at the time of registration.
- If we receive a cancellation request, we will cancel all remaining unpaid installments. All processed payments are non-refundable, no refunds will be provided.
GMC Cancellation Policy
- If we receive a cancellation request more than 60 days before your GMC start date, the automatic billing for the remaining 50% of the camp fee will not be charged. There will be no refund provided for the initial deposit. If this request is made within 60 days of the GMC start date, no refund will be provided for any payments received.
