Trip Description

Lace up your hiking boots and join us for 5 days of exploration this summer through our Youth Hiking Week. Our camp is designed for youth of all hiking abilities who love to be outside.

The focus of our camp is to get youth exploring in their own backyard while building experience and community through hiking day trips. Topics and content covered throughout the camp will include wildlife safety, Leave-No-Trace principles, movement skills, and trip planning for day hikes.

Our youth camp will run from 9AM to 5PM each day for the final week of July. The camp will follow a day trip format and will meet at a new trailhead each day within a 50km radius of Canmore to allow participants to explore a wide range of the Bow Valley. This camp is geared towards youth aged 10 to 15. Participants must be 10 years of age by December 2025 to participate in the camp. Participants will need to bring lunch and snacks for the course as well as all personal gear for the day.

If your child does not have an existing ACC membership and wishes to participate in the camp, please reach out to our Adventure Coordinator at [email protected] to set this up free of charge.

We are grateful for the support of the Bow Valley True Sport and Recreation Council for funding this program. To keep things flexible, we’re offering the option to pay for and attend individual days that work with your schedule or attend all 5 days with a per-day discount.
