In partnership with the Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies, the ACC is offering a kids’ organic cotton T-shirt, with an image from the classic children’s book from 1910.
The shirt’s front image is a full-colour vinyl print of the cover of our Animals’ Alpine Club children’s book with an elephant and a hippo joining two bears on an icy alpine climb. The lead bear is chopping steps and holds in steep snow, rope tied around his waist, as the second bear provides a sturdy one-hand belay, an awesome contrast to the harnessed and helmeted kids that will be wearing them! Available in sky blue and navy blue.
The back of the shirt sports the logos of both the Whyte Museum and the ACC, two of the most distinguished institutions in the Rockies.
This Ethica shirt is 100% organic cotton, certified under the GOT’s standard, encompassing growth, harvest, transformation, use of chemicals and labour conditions in cotton products. We appreciate that the lands known today as Canada are home to the enduring presence of all First Nations and Métis people, and the Inuit and we acknowledge the past, present, and future generations of these Nations who continue to lead us in stewarding this land, as well as honour their knowledge and cultural ties to this place. The Alpine Club of Canada’s head office is located in the traditional lands of Treaty 7, which is comprised of the Stoney Nakoda Nations of Wesley, Chiniki, and Bearspaw; three Nations of the Blackfoot Confederacy: the Piikani, Kainai, and Siksika; the Mountain Cree; and the Tsuu T’ina of the Dene people. This territory is also shared with the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region III. Before the signing of Treaty 7, and prior to the establishment of provincial boundaries, this region was also used by the Ktunaxa and the Maskwacis people.
