Distinguished Service Award

An Award for Distinguished Service to the Club in Matters Other Than Mountaineering

The Distinguished Service Award is presented to members of the Alpine Club of Canada who have given outstanding service to the ACC either on a voluntary basis or as employees who have given service exceeding the value of their remuneration. These individuals will have contributed to furthering the aims of the club or a section of the club, working on committees and projects or providing leadership for large undertakings. The ACC’s Service Badge was instituted in 1906 and the name was changed to the Distinguished Service Award in 1970.

Award Eligibility And Contribution Details

In order to be eligible for the Distinguished Service Award, the nominee must: Be an active ACC Member. Must be acting on a voluntary basis or exceeding value of their remuneration. Have contributed outstanding service to the club or to a section of the club over a period exceeding 10 years in 2 or more of: furthering aims of the club or a section. on a committee or project of the club or a section. providing leadership for a large undertaking for the club or a section. towards the activities of the club or a section.
